Hello Cambridge-Isanti residents:
Comprehensive facility planning is crucial for providing the highest quality education and support to our children, and community involvement has been key in shaping this initiative. As the planning process moves forward, and we build solutions through community collaboration, our goal is to provide timely updates every step of the way!
A Quick Recap
Since 2019 the district has worked diligently to improve its overall financial health and address facility improvements without impacting property taxes. We also recognized the need for a strategic facilities plan to align resources and focus district priorities for the future.
To achieve this, we have spent the last two years working with a K-12 facilities planning consultant to develop a comprehensive facility plan for our district in order to intentionally plan for future facilities and programming needs.
In the Spring of 2024, community members, parents, staff, and teachers were surveyed to identify and provide input on classroom and building conditions.
Five areas of greatest need were identified and included; learning space modernization and innovation, deferred maintenance, safety and security, capacity, and recreation, athletics, and activities.
Future Focused
The comprehensive facility plan will work to solve these challenges in a fiscally-responsible manner as we plan for the future of our district.
Currently, we are reviewing the needs of aging facilities, community growth, programming needs, and the financial picture as we consider next steps. To ensure we are prioritizing the right projects for our district and our community, a Facility Planning Task Force has been assembled to evaluate all the district’s facility needs and provide input on solutions.

In 2025 the District will continue engaging stakeholders through a community survey (in progress) and facility tours to share updates and gather feedback on district needs and solutions. We look forward to gaining valuable input, so we develop the right plan for the future of Cambridge-Isanti Schools.
